A friend suggested I make the bow interchangeable. So I used button holes to thread the ribbon through but it is not tacked down.
She of course picked the pink. I added the green. The original pattern had a ruffle at the bottom but I ran short on fabric so I made a contrast panel instead.
It's zippered in the back. I really like the way it turned out! It will be cute with a little long sleeve shirt for the winter.

A new dress and some random cuteness
I made a new dress for Boo boo princess. She found a pattern she wanted at the craft store, but me not wanting to pay $12 for a pattern and then spend time cutting it out and all that I came up with my own pattern.

Not My Kid Monday
So here's something a little new. I'll tell you all the things my kids "did not" do this week. Since they are hilarious little boogers this ought to be fun!
1. Boo boo Princess did not use the gospel to try and win a fight with me....again!
2. My Nator did not pee pee in the potty three times this week!
3. Moosekat did not finish 1st grade this week!
4. Moosekat did not win tickets to a baseball game for the 3rd time this summer.
5. My Nator does not call his sister "Shishy", it is not completely adorable!
Head over to Mckmama's to check out what everyone else's kids are "Not" doing

"God died on the cross for people who are angry, and you were being angry at me!"

Hello fashion world!!!
Today I start an apprenticeship with a 30+ year veteran seamstress who used to manage the tailoring department at Saks! Two afternoons a week I'll get to go to her shop and learn under her while I help organize her shop and finish projects.
I have to give you the background on how I was blessed with this position. For a couple months I have been contemplating doing something with my sewing hobby. I know I need more instruction on how to perfect the art and I feel like this could be a career goal; something I could work towards now while I'm raising my children.
After finding out that two years of fashion school would cost more than some masters programs I slowly drifted away from that option. My mom was encouraging me to contact our seamstress and see if she might be interested in teaching me in exchange for some help. I put the idea off for a while thinking surely she wouldn't want me hanging around pestering her.
So in just a couple hours I'll head out to my new hobby turned job. Stay tuned, I look forward to sharing about all I learn!

Howdy Ya'll!

So, I wanted to say hey to everyone who so kindly came over to check out my blog and give you a little info (and maybe convince you to become a regular.)
I am a stay at home mom to three beautiful kids (usually included in most posts). I homeschool my oldest. I adore my husband and I absolutely LOVE to sew! I am a Christian and will from time to time post about some topic or cause weighing on my mind. I am a diehard Texan.
What you'll find here:
- Typically you'll find lots of pictures and posts about my kids (an easy way for grandparents and family to keep up with us).
- I am trying to build my sewing abilities and business so occasionally you'll find giveaways for things I've made.
So, thank you for stopping by and feel free to stick around!

Not Me Monday
1. My baby girl is not 4 today...
2. I did not sorta kinda promise her a real bunny without realizing it and then hope she would forget only to have her tell me last night before bed that she just knows I got her a bunny for her birthday. And then today when asking if grandma got her a present she wanted to know if grandma got it at the pet store...
3. I did not go to the store with the intention of getting one specific thing and then return home without that item. (no it wasn't a bunny, really)
4. I am not beginning to recognize the drive through tellers at Bill Miller. I do not go there at least once a day for a sweet tea refill.
Well I hope you've enjoyed yourself at my expense. Just remember I have not done these things...

So there you have it, some randomness from the last month.
